GRASMERE Gingerbread® was thrilled to be shortlisted in the Family-Owned Business of the Year category of the 2017 Amazon Growing Business Awards.
It was further market acknowledgment of the 164-year-old family firm’s business acumen which is increasingly seen as a major culinary ambassador for Cumbria and the Lake District.
Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager at Amazon, “congratulated” the Grasmere-based business.
“The depth and breadth of the 2017 shortlist proved why the UK is a great place to set up and run a business,” he said.
Joanne Hunter, Co-owner of Grasmere Gingerbread® said: “This was our fifth major business award nomination in 2017 and we were thrilled.”
Earlier in the year, Joanne won a Special Achievement award in the E3 Business Awards and was a finalist in the same competition’s Businesswoman of the Year category.
Grasmere Gingerbread® was also a family business finalist in two other business competitions run by Family Business United and the Federation of Small Businesses and Worldpay UK.
Joanne added: “Everyone in the business – from our own children to our amazing loyal staff – work incredibly hard, individually and as a team, to keep us moving forward.
“These awards recognise their commitment and endeavour which is why they are so special for us.”
