Cleaner

Rate of Pay : £13 an hour

General Assistants

Days of work:
Full or Part Time

Hours of Work:
9 am to 5.30pm (1-hour lunch).

Length of Contract:
Permanent, Seasonal posts available.

Rate of Pay:
Up to £10 an hour

Main Purpose of Job:
To work as part of a small team in a specialist bakery assisting in production of Gingerbread and kitchen operation and to work in the shop providing final presentation of products through packaging, and offering first class customer service through knowledge and communication to a wide range of international customers.

Ultimately responsible to:
The Directors & Manager

Liaison with:
All members of staff

Main tasks of the job:
Bakery: Product preparation, baking, packaging, cleaning of work areas, off-loading of deliveries.
Shop: Stock prep, customer service; advising and informing, using electronic point of sale, taking orders, preparing work areas and cleaning, shop housekeeping, stock control; re- stocking and stock rotation, presentation of stock.

Suitable Candidate:

  • Reliable
  • Flexible
  • Can work as part of a small team in a limited environment
  • Presentable for working in a food production environment and customer interface
  • Can deliver first class customer service
  • Experience not necessary as full training can be given for the right candidate

Sales Assistants

Days of work:
Full/Part Time

Hours of Work:
9.00 am to 5.45pm, 1 hour for lunch.
From the first Monday in November until the first Monday in January the shop will close at 5pm and therefore half an hour less to be worked each day. From the first Monday in January until the week preceding February Half Term (wherever that may fall) the shop will close at 4:30pm and therefore one hour less to be worked each day.

Length of Contract:
Permanent, immediate start, where possible.

Rate of Pay:
16 to 18yr £7 per hour plus bonus
18 to 20yr £8 per hour plus bonus
20 and over £9 per hour plus bonus

Main Purpose of Job:
To work as part of a small team in a specialist bakery shop/attraction. Providing final presentation of products through packaging and offering first class customer service through knowledge and communication to a wide range of international customers.

The Managers

Liaison with:
All members of staff

Main tasks of the job:

  • Preparation of stock
  • Packaging of stock and wrapping product
  • Customer Care

General Admin Assistant

Days of work:
Monday/Thursday/Sunday* see below

Length of contract: 
Permanent after probationary period

Hours of work:
9.00am – 5.30pm (1 hour for lunch)

Rate of pay:
£9.50 an hour

Holidays:
Statutory** see below.

Main purpose of job:
To work as part of a small team in our busy sales/marketing administration department. To work directly with the Sales Administrator and support the role in packaging production and delivery of wedding favours.

Key working relationships –

Immediately responsible to:
Sales Administrator

Ultimately responsible to:
Operations Manager and Directors

Liaison with:
All members of staff, customers and suppliers.

Main tasks of the job: 

Communicate internally and externally through all channels; telephone, emails and web.
Presentation of wedding favours; prepare, decorate and pack wedding orders.
Administration of all systems both electronically and written including filing systems and press archive.
Deal with customer orders and queries; provide a friendly and efficient service for varied customer needs through all channels.
Support and cover; in all areas of the Sales Administrator’s role including holiday cover. General office support for Sales and Marketing team.

Required candidate qualities:

  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment;
  • Can communicate effectively, written and verbally;
  • Basic IT skills either through a qualification or experience;
  • Strong organisational skills and time management;
  • An eye for detail and accuracy is paramount;
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet daily deadlines;
  • Reliable and flexible when necessary;
  • Be part of a small team yet work independently using own initiative;
  • Desire to passionately embrace a unique product and business.

To Note:

*Days can be increased with this position through working in other areas of the business.
**This position may appeal to someone with family commitments and would consider flexible hours i.e. increase days with shorter hours.
Bank Holiday Mondays are normal working days within the business and is also the Sales Administrator’s day off which needs to be covered.

Mail Order Assistant

Main purpose of job:
To work as part of a small team in our busy sales/marketing administration department. To report directly to the Mail Order Manager and provide a first-class customer service by the efficient daily dispatch of products from start to finish; receive orders, process, pick, pack and dispatch domestically and internationally.

Mail Order Manager

Ultimately responsible to:
Operations Manager and Directors

Liaison with: 
All members of staff, customers and suppliers.

Main tasks of the job:

Communicate internally and externally through all channels; telephone, emails and web.
Administration of all systems both electronically and written; web system orders, excel, courier software, packing lists, labelling, customs’ procedures and internal filing.
Stock control of all products for mail order section through internal sourcing and quality control. All areas kept clean and tidy.
Pack all parcels, picking list, implementation through correct care and attention to meet company standards for high quality delivery to customers.
Deal with customer orders and queries; provide a friendly and efficient service for varied customer needs from start to finish through all channels.

Required candidate qualities:

  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment;
  • Can communicate effectively, written and verbally;
  • IT skills either through a qualification or experience;
  • Strong organisational skills and time management;
  • An eye for detail and accuracy;
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet daily deadlines;

*This position may appeal to someone with family commitments. For the appropriate candidate we would consider a change of the set hours, e.g. a 9am start for a 4pm finish and could be Mon-Thurs.

Holidays must be taken at the quieter times of the mail order operation; Easter weekend, Whit week and summer.
Over the summer period (limited) non paid holiday may also be taken;

No holidays when the Mail Order Manager is absent, or during December or during other high-level seasonal promotions.

Sales and Marketing Manager

Hours of Work:

Main Purpose of Job:
This is a rare opportunity to work creatively for one of Cumbria’s outstanding and multi award-winning specialist food and tourism ambassadors. Main tasks of the job: 

  • Take direction from a Director and then action;
  • Manage a small team of people, give direction, guidance and mentoring to achieve effective results within the constraints of the business and to delegate where necessary;
  • Undertake effective research and sourcing;
  • Plan and programme marketing, sales, event and PR activity;
  • Manage and monitor admin procedures required for sales and marketing activity, and special projects;
  • Communicate and co-ordinate all staff members to meet objectives and deadlines;
  • Analysis and report to Directors;
  • Press/Media content and activity;
  • Cover sales and marketing activity when other members of the team are unavailable.
