Main purpose of the job: The Social Media & Digital Executive plays a pivotal role in developing the social media presence of Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread® through planning, creating, scheduling, and posting effective social media content. Combining creativity with strategy, the Social Media & Digital Executive works to achieve two core objectives; firstly, to build brand awareness via all relevant social media channels and, secondly, to drive new audiences to the Grasmere Gingerbread® website and outlets.

 Main tasks of the job: 

  • To oversee all company social media accounts management on a daily basis;
  • To work with the marketing department to create and implement annual and monthly content plans for Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread® social media channels;
  • To develop engaging, creative and innovative organic content (photography, videography, copy) based on Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread® content pillars for regular weekly scheduled posts;
  • To develop and implement competitions and collaborations to build awareness and engagement in line with the Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread® brand marketing plan;
  • To monitor and respond appropriately to all customer feedback and comments on social media posts;
  • To monitor, track, analyse and report on social media platform performance using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook/Instagram insights;
  • Proficiency in Campaign Monitor to build publish monthly email newsletters with creative flair (content copy supplied);
  • Responsible for the photograph library both digital and hard copy;
  • Responsible for press archive (includes press, print, audio, video);

Main purpose of the job: To deal with the finance administration and activities of a busy small family business. The accounts package used is QuickBooks and a working knowledge of this software would be advantageous. This position works closely with the Director and the business’ appointed accountant to ensure that the company is completing all legal requirements with regard to the financial running of an SME. Responsible for the personnel activity; recruitment procedures, training administration, personnel data – pensions, healthcare and payroll.

Main tasks and responsibilities of the job:                 

  • Processing of invoices from suppliers and timely payment;
  • Processing of invoices for individual and corporate customers and checking payments are received;
  • Bank reconciliations;
  • Dealing with petty cash;
  • Producing monthly summary sheets of income and expenditure;
  • Dealing with online payment methods – i.e., PayPal, iZettle, Adyen, Sage pay, etc;

Days of work: Varied; dictated by the demands of the post which can vary. Includes outside events, promotional activities and talks. Events are often weekends and talks are usually held in the evening. More information given under 'main purpose of the job'. 

Hours of work:  37.5 hours per week, hours are varied due to the nature of the job i.e., event, location (starts can be early and talks can finish late). When working on event organisation administration this is undertaken in the offices in Grasmere the normal working day is 9am till 5.30pm (1 hour for lunch). 

When the full programme is in operation some weeks (due to logistics) maybe above the weekly hours but hours are adjusted accordingly for the following week by taking time off in lieu that is why we are looking for a flexible person who does not like 'same old same old'.

Main purpose of the job: An exciting post for someone who considers themselves to be a ‘people person’ and relishes being the ‘face’ of Grasmere Gingerbread® in and out of Cumbria. It entails flexible working at outdoor and indoor events, shows, country fairs, promotional days and pop-up shops, and also includes giving promotional talks to a wide variety of interested parties such as U3A, Rotary and WI. Duties involve preparing for and attending all of the above to make direct sales and build ‘brand’ awareness, communicate information about Grasmere Gingerbread® and promote the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop, its mail order service and pivotal role within the Lakeland economy. The successful candidate would have a genuine enthusiasm for the product and its fascinating social history, an appreciation of Cumbria and the Lake District as a visitor destination and a love of the area’s distinctive food heritage.

Main tasks of the job:

  • Research and plan an events programme to maximise sales and company exposure;
  • Prepare company briefing notes through logistical planning;
  • Prepare stock sheets and stock;
  • Pack vehicle of all stock and equipment and take to location;
  • Setting up and taking down of stand/presentation and any equipment;
  • Visual display and delivery of company image and brand;

Main purpose of the job: This is a new role but integral to the smooth, efficient running of a busy, small family business that continues to expand and develop. The successful applicant will centralise, oversee, and manage all stock within the business operation and further develop Sarah Nelson’s branded products* by bringing them to ‘shelf’ - (*examples below).

Main tasks and responsibilities of the job:

  • Procure (with outside technical agencies) an electronic stock system to centralise the business’s supply chain;
  • Manage the stock system and train other members of staff to become familiar with its operation;
  • Manager all stock inwards - both saleable and non-saleable (except ingredients);
  • End of year stock reconciliation;
  • Record keeping of data of supplier directory;
  • Manage deliveries and intake of the supply chain;
  • Manage storage of stock across the business;
  • Deal with supply issues and source alternatives as required;
  • Monitor perishable stock;
  • Implement supplier contracts to all ‘Sarah Nelson’ branded saleable items and monitor standards from these suppliers;
  • Deal with quality control issues of stock;
  • Competitively procure saleable and non-saleable items across all disciplines i.e., products labels, product print, mail order consumables, etc;
  • Research new suppliers for new products and own brand products, through trial and testing, pricing and feasibility, packaging and bringing to sale by working alongside marketing department;

Days of work:                                   Sunday

Hours of work:                                 (anytime between 7am – 4pm) Approx. 4-5 hours rising to 7-8.

Rate of pay:                                       £15.00 an hour (age 23 and over)      

Length of Contract:                         Annual renewable with a probationary period

 

Main purpose of the job: To have the ability to clean independently to a high standard, within a small family business in various office and operational buildings.

Main tasks of the job: To provide a high standard of cleaning with care and attention adhering to our Covid policy.

 

Relationships -

Ultimately responsible to: Bakery Manager and Operations Manager

Liaison with: All members of staff

 

Suitable Candidate:

  • Reliable and flexible.
  • Able to work independently to a high standard.
  • Presentable for working in a food production environment.
  • Can deliver a first class cleaning duty.
