This evocative dusky image is possibly the most famous and reproduced of all William Heaton Cooper’s landscapes of the English Lake District. ‘After Sunset’ began life as a detailed drawing of Grasmere looking towards Helm Crag. Later, the artist captured the dying light of the valley in an outdoor colour study before completing the painting in his studio.
From the iconic watercolour of Grasmere by W.Heaton Cooper, painted in the 1950s. Supplied with envelope.
