The Gingerbread House Festival is a bold reimagining of a centuries-old culinary and cultural tradition. Jointly hosted by Grasmere Gingerbread® and the Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa in the Lake District – at the hotel’s stunning location overlooking Lake Windermere – the three-day event offers large cash awards and other fantastic prizes to creators, crafters, bakers and confectioners of all ages and from all walks of life.

Entrants are encouraged to think about dreaming up ‘gingerbread house’ designs with the wow factor – everything from traditional country cottages, elegant mansions and global cultural landmarks to modes of transport, brutalist architecture or even ‘emergency’ accommodation.
As well as celebrating the best of British baking and creativity, The Gingerbread House Festival will raise money for Shelter – the national housing and homelessness charity.
